We chose Montreal deliberately, and we'd choose it again.

Montreal sits at an unusual intersection. World-class AI research — MILA, Element AI's alumni network, McGill and Université de Montréal — means we recruit from a deep pool of machine learning talent. But it's also a design and film production hub, with a manufacturing tradition that keeps industrial design grounded in physical reality.

Depix operates at the boundary of AI and industrial design. That boundary is where Montreal lives.

There's also something less tangible. Montreal has a density of people who build physical things — aerospace engineers, game developers, industrial designers, architects. Our team talks to them constantly. It keeps our roadmap honest. We're not building for an abstract future user; we're building for people we know.
